Josh's BIG boy bed...

Well, last night we converted Josh's bed for the last time...from crib to toddler bed...to full-size bed.


The mattress has been delivered... and it awaits the sheets. But um, I think, just maybe, that we may have miscalculated. Say it with me, folks: Oh. Dear!

Josh is 42 inches tall...and the top of the mattress comes up to my hip. We will be applying two guardrails, and the Small boy will have to use a step stool with a handle. If he gets it into his head to jump on it, he'll get his head into the ceiling :P

I can see it now, the new bedtime routine. Josh climbs his ladder, I climb up after him. Tuck him in, kiss him good night, make sure his oxygen mask is firmly in place and that his ice axe is close at hand. Then, I'll step off, miss the ladder, and go careening into space, Whoo-Hoo-Hoo-HOOOOOOOOOO! Or we may just take the slats out and knock that baby (meaning the BED, not the Small Boy) down a bit.
