David's brother, passed away at 2:30 this morning.
He was a good man, and he will be sadly missed.

Great Discoveries of Parenthood -- Or What The "Old-Hand" Parents May Not Pass On To The Rookies

You can only listen to/take so much advice before you have to stop listening to/taking the advice -- no matter how good/well-intended the advice (or the advice-giver) is. -- on-going discovery.

Parenthood seems to be like teaching kids to ride a bike: a lot of times it feels like you're running along side while they seem to do all the real work. All you can really do is check their balance and hope they figure out how to shift gears and work the brakes before they hit a tree...or that ditch or that cat...or you! -- discovered 9/2006

Parenthood can also be compared to an Undertow Current. The more you fight and rail and yell, the more exhausted you become. Try to make your goal just taking a breath, and backing the drama down. (And I'll let you know how that works for me, just as soon as I find out how that works for me.) -- discovered July 16, 2009

The only time you can get the "Snooze Alarm" to work on a small child is when they are sick. When YOU are sick, they'll be up at a quarter 'till five.
